The UWM Police Department is warning the campus community to be aware of a new phone scam in which the caller falsely identifies themselves as a UWM Police officer. The scam caller indicates that the individual they’re calling is under arrest and directs them to call another number for a “confirmation number.” The scam caller’s ID appears as the UWM Police Department’s main number, 414-229-4627.
