The week of April 4 to 8 is Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin. On Thursday, April 7, UWM will hold mandatory campus-wide tornado drills.
The tornado drill in Northwest Quad will be conducted at 10 a.m., while the rest of campus and buildings near campus such as USRB, Hefter Center, Alumni House, Zelazo Center, Great Lakes Research Facility and Global Water will conduct their drill at 1 p.m.
The campus drill at 1 p.m. will be initiated with a S.A.F.E. alert email and/or text message, with an “all clear” announced in a message as well. The tornado drill at Northwest Quad at 10 a.m. will be initiated with an announcement over the fire panel PA system, with an “all clear” announced over this system as well.
