4,000 students moving in to residence halls at UWM this week

MILWAUKEE _ Students will begin moving into residence halls at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

More than 4,000 students are expected to move in this week, including about 2,700 freshmen. UWM has more than 27,000 students in total.

Kelly Haag, the director of University Housing, will be available for interviews from 9 to 9:20 a.m. Tuesday at RiverView, 2340 N. Commerce St.

Photographers and videographers will be able to shoot footage in the lobby and other common spaces at RiverView from 9:20-9:40 a.m. Photographs or video can be shot in student rooms only with the invitation of students occupying those rooms.

Space permitting, TV crews will be allowed to park in the turnaround in front of RiverView. If all spaces are occupied, there is free street parking on North Avenue and on Commerce Street south of North Avenue.
