Purpose of Meeting: Announcements – KR

Motion: Core Studio. The department of architecture will add a required core studio in the 7th semester of the BArch. This course replaces one of the three required ARCH 650 elective studios. (UG)
Motion: Studio Themes and Student Learning Outcomes. The Department of Architecture will adopt the studio themes and student learning outcomes per the curriculum framework. These will be evaluated and updated annually. These criteria will be implemented in the 2024/25 academic year. (UG)
Motion: The DAR will change the naming conventions for its NAAB-accredited graduate degree program to an M.Arch 1 with a 2-year track or a 3-year track depending on the students’ pre-professional background. The DAR will refer to its new, non-accredited 1-year post-professional graduate degree program as M.Arch 2. (G)
Motion: Proposal to define the required curriculum for the new 1-year post-professional M.Arch 2 as follows (and in distinction from last year’s curriculum, which had only 1 required course). ARCH718_Colloquium-Architecture’s Wicked Problems, Fall; ARCHXXX: Studio teaching Practicum, Spring; ARCH850 Elective Studio (Grad only); Possible exhibit or lecture series supporting the faculty fellow. (G)
Motion: CAA P&P. The Department of Architecture will adopt the College of Arts and Architecture Policies and Procedures document. Document located in faculty meeting folder.
Assistant Professor Alex Timmer to present case for promotion with tenure to Associate Professor.
The Executive Committee may move into closed session to discuss personnel matters as permitted by Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(c) and (f).
