MWALLT Call for Papers Extended to Jan. 15

MWALLT Conference, 2024 – Call for Proposals

Deadline Extended to January 15, 2024

The Midwest Association for Language Learning Technology (MWALLT) is seeking proposals for its 2024 multi-site conference to be held on Saturday, March 2 at the University of Iowa, the University of Kansas and the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Presentations will be delivered in person at all three hosting institutions, which will be connected through simulcast. Presenters must select the location at which they will present as part of the proposal process.

Proposals are sought for sessions relating to the teaching of languages and cultures through the integration of technology. While proposals should exhibit an understanding of current trends in language pedagogy, the focus should be on praxis rather than on research. The goal is to provide practical information about emerging technologies and approaches that can be easily implemented in the language classroom.

This conference will be of particular interest to all current and prospective K-12 and post-secondary language instructors, to individuals affiliated with media centers or language labs, and to individuals interested in any facet of language learning technology. We invite instructors, graduate students, and academic staff to participate in one of two session types:

15-minute presentation to share your favorite online activity or tech tip
30-minute exploration of a tool, tip, or strategy, with examples and student feedback
To encourage participation by K-12 educators and graduate students, registration fees will be waived for accepted presenters.

Proposals can be submitted online.
The deadline for submission of proposals has been extended to January 15, 2024.
