This information refers to walking in the Commencement Ceremony.
Obtain commencement information from the Secretary of the University Website, or contact them directly: secofunv@uwm.edu, (414) 229-5988. There are two commencement ceremonies each year, one in December (for fall graduates) and one in May (for spring/summer graduates). All students who have applied for graduation before October 31st (for December) and April 2nd (for May) will be able to claim tickets for the commencement ceremony. You’ll receive the details of the ceremony from the Secretary of the University 2-3 weeks before the scheduled date.
ALL PHD students who wish to participate in the commencement ceremony are required to RSVP online.
If you want your name to appear in the commencement bulletin, be sure that you have not elected a FERPA Block. If you need to release the FERPA Block, contact the Department of Enrollment Services Information Center, Mellencamp 274. This should be done by the second week of the semester in which you expect to graduate to ensure that your name will appear in the bulletin.
Removal of the FERPA Block will allow your directory information to be released for all publicity purposes, as well as the commencement booklet.
