Welcome to The First-Generation+ Resource Center!

We are part of the Centers for Advocacy and Student Engagement (CASE), a collective effort to educate, connect resources and develop programming that advocates for all students, ourselves, and each other in order to impact change at structural, institutional, and systemic levels.

The members of CASE include the First-Generation+ Resource Center (FG+RC), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Plus Resource Center (LGBTQ+RC), Military and Veteran’s Resource Center (MAVRC), and the Women’s Resources Center (WRC). Each of these Centers serve students by creating spaces, programs and resources that support each student’s journey through UWM.

CASE Mission

Mission: The Centers for Advocacy and Student Engagement (CASE) collaborate to support and advocate for marginalized students through comprehensive programs, resources, professional development, and community connections in Milwaukee.

CASE Shared Values:

  • Advocacy – Engage and uplift the voices of marginalized communities at UWM.
  • Affirmation – Build a community that celebrates and respects students’ diverse experiences, identities, and self-worth.
  • Empowerment – Motivate students to develop agency and control over their college experience.
  • Community Care – Foster belonging and shared responsibility for student success.

***IMPORTANT NOTICE: Starting June 1st, our name will change to the First-Generation+ Resource Center (previously the Inclusive Excellence Center). Our mission, programs, and services will remain the same. The name change is to reflect our programs and services and the students we serve.***
