Tasha Oren will be giving a talk entitled “Television and the Worldly Plate: On Culinary Journeys and Immigrant Kitchens” as part of the Global Fellows Colloquia.
The talk will discuss Tasha Oren’s current research into early cooking shows as precursors for current food media. She will focus on early immigrant chefs, so-called “ethnic” food, and how popular culture and food culture shaped each other in early television history.
