Town-Gown Showdown Bicycle Challenge

There is still one month to log your hours for the friendly biking competition between UWM, Milwaukee County and MMSD (Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District). The first-ever Town-Gown Showdown started May 1 and runs through Sept. 30.

To sign up and ride for UWM, just go to nationalbikechallenge.org and register, listing your workplace or school as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The goal is to see which of the three sites can log the most points during the challenge.

The teams are scored by points per rider (riders receive 20 points for riding at least a mile, and 1 point for each mile ridden.) So anybody riding at least a mile a day can help pile up points for UWM.
