Our mission is to facilitate the FAA Green Office Certification program which:

• Supports, promotes, and recognizes departments that are engaging in sustainable practices in 3 primary categories: (1) energy conservation; (2) waste reduction, and (3) recycling AND
• Allows departments to contribute to UWM’s Guiding Value of “stewardship of resources that promote sustainability, prosperity, and equity for all in the local and global communities”.

The Green Office Certification program seeks to align departmental operations with sustainable practices while providing opportunities to promote collaboration and innovation:

• Collaboration: Departments work with each other to share ideas on how to have greener operations, lower their carbon footprint, and experience cost savings.
• Innovation: Departments are encouraged to develop and share innovative green practices.
