Water Equipment Policy Center Roundtable Discussion

May 7 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

All faculty and students are invited to participate in the May 7 Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) meeting hosted by the Water Equipment and Policy Industry/University Cooperative Research Center (WEP I/UCRC).

With support from the National Science Foundation, the WEP Center was founded in 2010 by UWM, Marquette University, and their industrial partners. Center research focuses on water sensors, novel materials, treatment systems and water policy studies. The Center Spring 2024 IAB meeting will have a special roundtable discussion session, which provides a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academia and industry within our vibrant research community.

About the Round Table Discussion

This event is designed to facilitate a dynamic exchange between the faculty members, students, and WEP IAB representatives. It represents a pivotal opportunity for us to explore the research interests and future directions that our industrial partners are keen to explore.

Why You Should Attend

  • Discover Research Interests: Learn directly from WEP industrial partners about the cutting-edge research areas and projects funded by the Center in the past; explore the water industry’s current needs in innovation; and identify potential breakthrough technologies and challenges.
  • Networking Opportunities: Engage in meaningful conversations with industry representatives, opening doors to potential research collaborations and project funding.
  • Apply for Research Projects: Gain insight into how you can align your expertise with unmet needs of WEP member companies and learn about the processes of WEP annual Request for Proposals (RFP) and project application. Call for Proposals.
  • Share Your Expertise: Present your own research interests and expertise, even if it falls outside the water technology area. This event is a perfect opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration and exploration of new perspectives.

Who Should Attend

This event is open to all UWM and Marquette faculty members and students who are interested in expanding their research horizons into water technologies and policy research. You are also welcome to bring slides or posters which highlight your research expertise to share with industrial representatives.
