Graduate Project Assistant
  • Unit: Student Success Center
  • Description: The Student Success Center is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to serve in a variety of roles within the office. This individual will be responsible for success coaching within the Fund for Wisconsin Scholars (FFWS) Program. The FFWS provides grants that open the door to a better world, helping ensure that higher education is accessible and affordable, and that degree completion is achieved. The graduate assistant will focus on the success and retention of the Fund for Wisconsin Scholars students within this program and will serve as contributing member of the professional staff team in the Student Success Center.

Graduate Intern of Success Coaching
  • Unit: Student Success Center
  • Description: The Student Success Center is seeking up to three energetic, empathetic, and self-motivated individuals to serve in a variety of roles within the MKE Scholars, First Year Forward, Smart Start, and other success coaching efforts through the center. These individuals will be responsible for aiding in the facilitation and evaluation of success coaching for the three programs listed above. These academic coaching programs consist of 1:1 coaching and mentoring services and academic skills building. Applicants for this position should be motivated to support undergraduate students through their unique and rigorous academic journeys. The Graduate Intern(s) will also serve as contributing members of the professional staff team in the Student Success Center.

  • Description: The Resident Educational Assistant for Student Leadership is responsible for supporting the student governance and leadership in Residence Halls. Lubar Student Engagement Graduate Assistantship
  • Unit: Lubar College of Business
  • Description: This role will provide you experience in academic advising, coordinating retention efforts for students in areas of academic success and support, and be involved in executing event programming such as our annual Lubar Fall Welcome, Lubar Majors and Student Organization Fair, Dinner with the Dean, and other related student appreciation and recognition events throughout the academic year. The Student Engagement Graduate Assistant is a contributing member of the Undergraduate Student Services team and on-campus professional development opportunities and training are available.

Graduate Assistant for Arts and Cultural Programs
  • Unit: Student Involvement, UWM
  • Description: Student Involvement is looking for an outgoing and dynamic individual to serve a key role in the development and implementation of campus events and programs, and to assist in the oversight of three Union units: Union Art Gallery, Union Studio Arts and Craft Centre, and Union Cinema. This individual will have the opportunity to lead the planning and implementation of artistic, cultural and social events, develop marketing strategies to reach a diverse student body, and advise students in the event planning process. Additionally, this individual will assist with liaising for 16 arts-based student organizations. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to connect with students and colleagues throughout the Division and learn about student development and co-curricular involvement at a large, urban university.

  • Description: Student Involvement is looking for an outgoing and dynamic student employee to serve as an advisor, mentor, coach and resource for the Campus Activities Board. This individual will provide support, guidance and leadership with programs developed by the membership of CAB. This includes the opportunity to assist students with event planning and assist students with creating marketing and communication strategies to reach a diverse student body. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to learn a great deal about student development and co-curricular engagement at a large, public, urban research university and to connect with colleagues throughout the Division of Student Affairs and the Student Union.

Leadership Programs – Fraternity & Sorority Life Graduate Student Worker– Student Affairs

  • Description: Student Involvement is looking for a graduate student employee to serve as an advisor, coach, and resource for the fraternity and sorority community. This individual will provide support for the governing councils and chapter leadership, as well as leadership for programs developed by the department. This includes the opportunity to directly advise student organizations; plan events and activities; participate in the development of leadership curriculum and resources; create marketing and communication materials; and facilitate trainings for the fraternity and sorority community.

Graduate Assistant for Student Organization Experiences

  • Description: Student Involvement is looking for an outgoing and dynamic graduate student employee to serve as an advisor and resource for involved student leaders and students interested in seeking co-curricular experiences on campus. This individual will provide support and leadership for the Student Organization Experiences and the Student Leadership Programs (SLP) initiatives being developed by the department. This position includes the opportunity to plan events, support student organizations through the creation of resources and training, create marketing and communication materials, participate in the development of leadership program curriculum and resources, and conduct presentations for various audiences. The selected candidate will also learn about student development, student leadership, and co-curricular involvement at a large, public, urban research university and connect with colleagues throughout the Division.

University of Wisconsin System Higher Education Fellowship Program

The ACHEA program partners with the University of Wisconsin System Administration to offer Higher Education Fellowship Program positions. The fellowship is designed to provide unique learning experiences to graduate and professional students interested in higher education, public policy, and leadership. Fellows will receive a graduate assistantship, including tuition remission and a stipend, for one academic year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Incoming and current students are encouraged to apply. Incoming students must be admitted to and enroll in the ACHEA program to be eligible. Application deadline: Spring of every year.
