Research Advisory Committee
The IUE Research Advisory Committee is a collaborative, interdisciplinary research team comprised of UW System colleagues and partner stakeholders. This committee investigates educational practices for urban school districts. Please email iue-info@uwm.edu if you are interested in participating in the IUE research advisory board or are looking for more information on IUE research projects.

Domonique Cobb
IUE Research Assistant
Domonique Cobb is a PhD student in the Urban Education Doctoral Program. Her research interests include the exploration of disparity in exclusionary discipline. She anticipates graduating in Spring 2025.
Wanying Liang
IUE Research Assistant
Wanying Liang is a PhD student in the Urban Education Doctoral Program, with research interests that focus on international educational policy in higher education, including analyses of how academic institutions respond to governance changes and challenges within a global context. Wanying anticipates graduating in Fall 2025.
Jamie Utecht

Jamie Utecht is a PhD student in the Urban Education Doctoral Program. Her research interests include the effects of educational labels as well as research about building teacher capacity in best practices in literacy instruction. Jamie anticipates graduating in Fall 2026.
Renee Lindsey
IUE Research Assistant

Renee grew up in Milwaukee, attended undergraduate at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and taught in Milwaukee-area high schools for 14 years before receiving her master’s degree in administrative leadership and beginning the Urban Education Doctoral Program, both at UWM. She is a committed advocate for equity and justice in urban public education.
Jennifer Slaughter

Jennifer Slaughter is a PhD student in the Urban Education Doctoral Program. Her research interests include transformative social emotional learning and teacher education. Jennifer anticipates graduating in Spring 2028.
