Graduate Project Assistant: Assistant Case Manager
  • Unit: Dean of Students Office
  • Description: The Dean of Students Office seeks student-centered and asset-minded individuals who have sound judgment, compassion, ethical leadership, complex reasoning, strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and deep interest in understanding and navigating issues related to poverty, mental health, equity, and inclusion to support students who experience significant challenges during college. The Graduate Project Assistant (GA) meets with students who may be in distress, offers guidance, coordinates resources, maintains detailed records, and follows up with students, caretakers, employees, and campus partners. This position also supports the development of case management services within the Dean of Students Office by engaging in various duties including, but not limited to, cultivating relationships with campus partners and community agencies, leading workshops, developing marketing and website materials, assisting with assessment, and working in the food pantry. All members of the Dean of Students Office, including Graduate Project Assistants, answer phones, perform administrative duties, participate in campus events, and perform other duties as assigned.

University of Wisconsin System Higher Education Fellowship Program

The ACHEA program partners with the University of Wisconsin System Administration to offer Higher Education Fellowship Program positions. The fellowship is designed to provide unique learning experiences to graduate and professional students interested in higher education, public policy, and leadership. Fellows will receive a graduate assistantship, including tuition remission and a stipend, for one academic year with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Incoming and current students are encouraged to apply. Incoming students must be admitted to and enroll in the ACHEA program to be eligible. Application deadline: Spring of every year.
