As a tenured professor with extensive teaching experience and research conducted across multiple continents, I am honored to serve UWM in this capacity. I pursued a career in higher education because I believe in its transformative power to address societal challenges and contribute to the creation of a more just world. My aim is to further efforts in fostering a campus culture grounded in civility and respect for all individuals, embracing both visible and invisible characteristics. This includes cultivating spaces for different perspectives, upheld through our commitment to freedom of expression, to broaden understanding of the world while ensuring no group is marginalized.
