Christiane Taubira
Christiane Taubira is former Minister of Justice, France, who was responsible for the Taubira Law (making slavery a crime against humanity) and the Marriage for All Law. She is the author of Paroles de liberté (Speaking of Liberty), Murmures à la jeunesse (Whispering to Young People), and Nous habitons la terre (We Live on this Earth).
Raoul Peck
Raoul Peck is director of Fémis (French National Film School); and director of the films I Am Not Your Negro, Lummba, Sometimes in April, and The Young Karl Marx. He is a former Minister of Culture, Haiti.
This conversation follows upon Mssr. Peck’s delivery of UWM’s 2017 Distinguished Lecture: “An Evening with Raoul Peck: Conversations on Identity, History, Race, and Baldwin.”
