Fellow Discussions & Open House

Sep 24, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Virtual event: Once the event starts you can view the live video below or on our YouTube channel.

Join us for What is Happening at C21?, our fall Open House, presented at the pleasure of the Center for 21st Century Studies in the Plague Year of 2021. We will highlight our Faculty Fellows both old and new, welcome our new Direct of C21, Anne Basting, and preview some new initiatives, including a new C21 exhibit, “Where is C21?

Our Academic Fellows will discuss the research they performed during their fellowship year, discuss their hopes for their work moving forward, and engage in dialogue with our new C21 Director, Anne Basting.

The 2020-21 Fellows sharing in a dialogue about their work include Ivan Ascher (Political Science), David DiValerio (History), Douglas Haynes (English), Jenny Kehl (Global Studies and Freshwater Sciences), Gladys Mitchell Walthour (African & African Diaspora Studies), and Sarah VanderHaagen (Communication). The 2021-22 Fellows include Christine Evans (History), Derek Handley (English), Maria Novotny (English), Ben Balcom (Film), and Sarah Schaefer (Art History).

There will be a brief break after the presentation, but stay on the video call for conversation and cocktails (which, alas, are byo).
