Dr. Valentine specializes in empirical research in auditing. Her current research focuses on the audit partner disclosures in the United States to examine the influence of individuals in leadership positions on audit quality.

Dr. Valentine teaches accounting analytics and forensic accounting. She previously worked as an auditor in public accounting as well as a corporate accounting manager in the real estate, private equity, and healthcare industries.

Dr. Valentine is a member of the American Accounting Association and a CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
