Areas of Expertise

Dr. Mandell specializes in federal taxation. His research interests include master limited partnerships, taxation, payout policy, and corporate governance.

He teaches income tax accounting. Dr. Mandell has six years of public accounting experience, most recently with PwC’s alternative investments tax practice in Chicago. Prior to joining PwC, he worked with Blackman Kallick (now Plante Moran) in Chicago, and Caler, Donten, Levine, P.A. in Palm Beach, Florida.

Professional Activities

Dr. Mandell is a member of the American Accounting Association (AAA), the American Taxation Association (ATA), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). In 2014, he received the Robin & Roger Best Teaching Award from the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon.
