Areas of Expertise

Dr. Fischer’s areas of specialization include financial reporting issues with an emphasis on leasing, business and combinations, segment reporting, capital budgeting, and deferred compensation.

Professional Activities

Dr. Fischer chairs the accounting area, which takes pride in the success of its students on the CPA Exam and in their professions. He teaches financial accounting in the undergraduate program and managerial accounting in the Executive MBA Program. Professor Fischer consults and teaches executive programs with several Wisconsin corporations. He works with the firms in the areas of segment analysis, project evaluation and deferred compensation. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs and the American Accounting Association.
