Professional Activities

Dr. Kaushal Chari currently serves as the Sheldon B. Lubar Dean and as Professor of Information Technology Management. At UWM, he has also served as the Acting Vice Provost for Research, Acting Dean of the Graduate School, and Interim Executive Director of the Connected Systems Institute.

Dr. Chari has served as a co-chair for business and academic conferences including the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum and the Workshop on Information Technology & Systems. He has also served as the Associate Editor for MIS for Interfaces Journal from 2002 - 2010, and as the Vice Chair of the INFORMS Information Systems Society from 2007 - 2009.

His work has been published in a number of academic journals including Management ScienceInformation Systems Research, INFORMS Journal on ComputingMIS Quarterly, and IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering.

Dr. Chari is the winner of numerous awards including the Community Champion for Entrepreneurship Award from the Global International Entrepreneurs Organization (TiE) and the Design Science Award given by the INFORMS Information Systems Society. He has been recognized as a "Notable Leader in Higher Education" by BizTimes Milwaukee.

He currently serves on the boards of non-profits such as Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Rotary Club of Milwaukee, and FIA of Tampa Bay. Dr. Chari has also engaged with businesses as a board member, consultant, or as an advisor. He is currently a member of INFORMS and the Rotary Club of Milwaukee.
