James Blinka is a seasoned tax professional with more than 30 years of public accounting experience in corporate tax, tax issues related to acquisitions, tax issues involved in preparing for a liquidity event, executive compensation, partnerships, S-Corporations, and closely held family business issues.

Professional Activities

James Blinka joined the Lubar College of Business accounting faculty in 2019 after an extensive career in public accounting, most recently as the Regional Managing Partner of Tax Services at BDO USA where he served as lead partner on numerous significant clients including Michelin, Crate and Barrel, and Sears. Prior to his 28 years at BDO, he worked at Arthur Andersen as a Tax Manager. Active in the community, Mr. Blinka is a member and past treasurer of the UWM Foundation, and a member of the Milwaukee Tax Club. He has served on various closely held and family advisory boards. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Wisconsin.
