Areas of Expertise

Dr. Bhatnagar specializes in marketing on the web. His current research focuses on consumer information search behavior on the web, advertising models for the web, benefits and risks of online shopping, and competition among different retail formats. He also specializes in analyzing advertising data for traditional media channels. He teaches courses on international marketing and principles of marketing. He has led several Study Abroad courses to UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Iceland, Serbia, Romania, Estonia, Finland, Russia, Morocco, Australia, and Switzerland.

Professional Activities

Dr. Bhatnagar has published papers in Information Systems Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business, Marketing Letters, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Retailing, European Journal of Operations Research, Communications of ACM, and International Journal of Research in Marketing.

He is a Senior Associate Editor at the Journal of Business Research. He is also on the Editorial Board of Journal of Consumer Marketing. He has served as a reviewer for Marketing ScienceMarketing LettersJournal of Retailing, and Journal of Business Research. Dr. Bhatnagar chaired the session on Marketing Analytics at the Academy of Marketing Science conference, 2016. He has been invited many times to teach courses at Business Schools in Greece, South Korea, and India.
