Leaders Converse: The State of the Restaurant Industry
March 29, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm CDT
Sponsored by the Lubar Graduate Programs
With nearly 200,000 of the Wisconsin workforce generating billions in annual revenue, the restaurant industry is a key contributor to our economy. However, it is widely known that the COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for restaurants. With new health guidelines, closures, scaled back hours, these challenges not only affect the restaurant, but also suppliers, employees, and customers. 96% of operators experienced supply delays or shortages of key food or beverage items in 2021. How will the current labor shortages, the rise in wholesale food prices, and the continued uncertainty of the coronavirus affect restaurants in 2022 and beyond?
