Learn new techniques. Elevate your dance practice. Enroll in the Peck School of the Arts debut High School Summer Dance Intensive.
This week-long in-person workshop is led by dance professors whose portfolios range from Cirque du Soleil to Pilobolus and will prepare high school students for college auditions, dance performances, competitions, and to build esprit de corps among emerging dance artists. Career exploration sessions include interviews with dance and performing arts leaders in the community, professional headshots, plus how-to sessions focused on applying to college and crafting a resume. Techniques and practices explored include Somatic practices like pilates and yoga, contemporary dance, improvisation, composition, West African Dance, Salsa, Merengue, and Breaking and Popping. This exciting week also includes interactions with our nationally acclaimed MFA students.
