The UW-Milwaukee Voice Area is proud to collaborate once again with the Supporters of Opera Singers (SOS) in hosting the final round of the 4th Annual Patricia Crump Vocal Competition. This competition honors Patricia Crump, founder of SOS, and celebrates young singers with strong ties to Wisconsin as they take important first steps into professional careers.

Following a virtual preliminary round, up to ten finalists will travel to Milwaukee to perform in person for a distinguished panel of judges. All finalists receive a $500 award. Additional honors include the Philip Crump Encouragement Award ($2,500) and the Patricia Crump Grand Prize ($5,000), both intended to support career-related expenses. In a meaningful extension of support, all finalists will remain eligible for additional grants for three years following the competition—funding that can assist with audition preparation, training programs, and other essential early-career opportunities.

We are thrilled to welcome these talented young singers to our campus and to partner with an organization so deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of operatic talent. Visit the Supporters of Opera Singers webpage for more information and to view its ongoing support for singers, including grant opportunities.
