Biography

Sam (they/he) has been serving the UW-Milwaukee community since December 2021, starting with LGBTQIA+ advocacy and moving to the College of Arts & Architecture in Fall 2026. With an educational background informally in the arts and formally in anthropology and education, they bring their problem-solving, attentiveness, and a bit of millennial humor to his work with students. Their unique educational journey as a First-Generation student, a chronic transfer student, and a major-hopper in his undergraduate career gives him deep empathy for the student experience, so they strive to center student agency, choice, and advocacy when possible.

Outside of work, Sam is a small business owner, an all-around video game and crafting nerd, and a creative that loves trying and learning new things. Ask them about their self-learning curricula, the zines they are currently working on, or his GarageBand music collection.
