Biography

Erica Meier is a Wisconsin based Artist living near Milwaukee. She received her Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater in 2009, and received her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in 2013. Meier is and is currently the Studio Technician and Lecturer for the Jewelry and Metalsmithing and Technician in Print and Narrative Forms Areas at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee overseeing equipment maintenance, replacement, research for new equipment, and studio purchasing for instruction and physical space. She has extensive experience as an art studio and safety coordinator promoting, maintaining, modernizing, and building sustainable, safe, and inclusive studio and educational environments. Meier has experience in manufacturing and production work environments prior to entering academe with training in lean manufacturing methods. Meier was a resident designer and metalsmith at Waterford Precision Cycles developing and building internationally renowned steel and stainless bicycle frames. She exhibits her work nationally and internationally and has taught at such universities as UW-Madison and UW-Parkside, and UW-Whitewater.
