Kate Kowbel

Kate Kowbel is an educator, director, storyteller and theater artist, who focuses on cultivating and maintaining the fine arts in education.  A graduate of the Peck School of the Arts at UW-Milwaukee, Kate has worked with Milwaukee Chamber Theater, Milwaukee Shakespeare Company, In Tandem Theater and the Milwaukee Repertory Theater.   Kate was nominated for the 2016 Excellence in Theater Education TONY Award.

Combining her passion for arts integrated education in the classroom, Kate has created and written curriculum for theaters and schools across Southeastern Wisconsin.   She is currently researching the use of theater, drama and creative play as a form of rehabilitation in juvenile detention centers, using her research as a platform to create curriculum to be used in alternative education programming at the middle and high school level.
