During interviews, Acting and Musical Theatre applicants may be asked to repeat their monologue and take direction on it. Time may also be available to present additional work. This will include the opportunity to receive feedback on your work from faculty.

If you require special accommodations or are not certain of your ability to attend an in-person interview, please choose the date that is most likely to work for you. Use the field below to address any questions or requests you have, and we will follow up with you.

Performance Recordings

All performances should be pre-recorded and submitted with your application. Recording in a studio or gym is recommended, but not required. Video files should include your name and be uploaded to a file sharing site. Please make sure files are public or accessible via a direct link without a password.

Acting: Performance of one 90-second memorized monologue of choice

Musical Theatre: Performance of a one-minute memorized monologue from a contemporary play.

Please write a brief description including show title, playwright and character.
Performance of a one-minute dance solo from musical theatre, ballet, jazz or tap genres.
Please describe the solo: who is the choreographer, title of the work or show it is excerpted from (if applicable), where was it filmed (studio, school, etc), when was it filmed, as well as anything else you think we should know.
32-bar vocal excerpt from standard musical theatre repertoire. You may sing a cappella, with an accompanist, or to a karaoke backing track; use a recording with pre-recorded vocals only if you have no other alternative.

      Placement Exams

      If you have music theory experience it is recommended that you take the online theory exam for course placement (sample exam). This exam is for placement and will not impact your audition results. There will be an opportunity to do placement tests for Musical Theatre classes prior to start of semester.
