CANCELLED! Field School Open House – June 26th

Note! This event has been cancelled due to the forecast of inclement weather.

The UWM archaeological field school is completing its third week in the field. We would like to invite the family and friends of the Weisensel family, the students and staff and our colleagues to our Open House on Saturday, June 26, from 10 AM to 3 PM. If inclement weather does not allow us to hold the Open House on Saturday, we will try to have it on Sunday, June 27.

The archaeological excavations are happening at the Koshkonong Creek Village Site in Jefferson, County. Excavations at the site began this week. The Koshkonong Creek Village Site is on private property owned by the Weisensel family at W9358 Rockdale Rd, Edgerton, WI. A Google Map link to the Weisensel’s farm is below.

The archaeological excavation area will be open for visitors to see the work that the students are conducting. The excavations are in an agricultural field so please be careful of the crops in the field and footwear that enclose the toes is recommended.
Snacks and beverages (water, soda, juice) will be provided. There are no picnic tables or other seating available at the site. Some lawn chairs will be provided, but we will likely not be able to accommodate all. If you would like to stay and visit with others, and prefer sitting to standing, it would be greatly appreciated if you can bring a personal lawn chair. Please, RSVP me at sethas@uwm.edu if you plan to attend so I can have an appropriate amount of food on hand.
