The Office of Administrative and Financial Services (AFS) manages and administers all human resources activities related to classified, unclassified, and student staff employed in the Office of Research, in its organized research units, or on Office of Research funds.
AFS is also responsible for the development, planning and implementation of the annual and biennial budget, and the ongoing monitoring and oversight of expenditures for Office of Research 101, 107, 128, 133, 136, 144, 150, 181, and 403 funds. The office also provides liaison to other campus units, including the Department of Human Resources, the Equity/Diversity Services Office, Budget and Financial Services, and any campus unit receiving fiscal support from the Office of Research. Finally, AFS is responsible for extramural and intramural post-award administration, providing fiscal oversight of 133, 144, and 233 projects.
