UWM linguists at ASAL

UWM Linguistics is well-represented at the 31st Annual Symposium on Arabic Linguistics, which gets under way this Thursday at the University of Oklahoma, with three talks by current faculty and students:

  • Hamid Ouali and Yasser Albaty: “Restructuring in Arabic”
  • Bader Alharbi: “The pronominal element in Arabic copular clauses”
  • Yahya Aldholmi and Hanyong Park: “The interaction between indexical information and temporal acoustics in speech rate perception”

The schedule also features one recent UWM Linguistics alum:

  • Juman Al Bukhari (University of North Georgia; UWM PhD 2016): “Negation Jordanian Arabic gapping”

Congratulations all!
