Mollie Vahling
- Smart Start Graduate Assistant
Mollie Vahling was born and raised in rural east-central Illinois and moved to Wisconsin for graduate school and to be closer to family. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders & Sciences from Eastern Illinois University and is currently working on obtaining her master’s in Social Work through UW-Milwaukee. She is passionate and enthusiastic about everything she does and looks forward to learning and growing in her role at the Student Success Center. When Mollie is not working at the Student Success Center or working on her studies, she often spends her time hanging out with her family, playing with her cats, reading, baking, or crafting. More often than not, you’ll find her with a cup of coffee or tea in hand and a smile on her face!
In her role as the Smart Start Graduate Assistant, Mollie works with incoming undergraduate students to prepare them for their first semester of college with support starting the summer after graduation. In working with students, she strives to create environments centered around inclusion and justice to ensure that students feel seen, supported, and valued.
