Data Transparency and Technology

Goals in this category:

Use metrics and data to measure progress

Description

It’s important to use data and establish other metrics to evaluate progress toward reaching Moon Shot goals.

Baseline

UWM’s Office of Assessment and Institutional Research compiles, analyzes and interprets data to help the university make decisions and evaluate projects and processes as well plan for the future. The Data Hub serves as a one-stop repository where staff and faculty can find data reports from various offices.

Goal

UWM will work with EAB and other colleges and universities in southeastern Wisconsin participating in Moon Shot to share data and agree on other metrics that will assess both student progress and how the partnership overall is doing in reaching goals.

Use technology to better serve students

Description

Use technology to provide services and information to students quickly and efficiently and to coordinate information shared with students, advisors, faculty and administrators.

Baseline

UWM embraces the use of technology as a tool to help students both inside and outside the classroom. We already use Navigate360, EAB’s student success management system, to coordinate support services like advising, tutoring and supplemental instruction. A team of advisors and student services staff from across campus meet monthly to exchange ideas and best practices on how to use Navigate360.

Goal

We will continue to evaluate and expand services offered through Navigate360 for current students and implement EAB technology designed to reach out to prospective students.
