Sexual Health Emergencies
If you have experienced a sexual assault, we encourage you to seek out the campus resources that are here to help you.
The Victim Advocate provides confidential services, which may include emotional support, information on making a formal report to law enforcement or the UWM administration, and having someone accompany you to any medical or investigative interviews. They are one of the few people on campus who are not mandated reporters. They can be contacted at 414-229-4582 or victimadvocacy@uwm.edu.
The WRC can provide referrals and resources to UWM students of all genders. They are open M-F 9am-5pm and are located next door to the LGBTQ+RC on the ground floor of the Union. Their number is 414-229-2852.
The Student Health and Wellness (SHAW) Center provides medical and counseling services to active UWM students. They are available by walk-in or appointment. To make an appointment, please call 414-229-4716.
Aurora Health Care’s Sexual Assault Treatment Centers are located at Sinai and West Allis Memorial. They can also be contacted 24 hours a day at 414-219-5555.
