The Language Resource Center (LRC) received an Ed Tech grant last year to establish an Active Distance Learning Classroom with enhanced technology to encourage active learning, distance learning and mobile learning. The ultimate goal of the project is to enhance language learning and help increase student retention rate.

The new Active Distance Learning classroom will target all UWM language students taking face-to-face, hybrid or fully online classes, and provide state of the art video conferencing technology, a welcoming active learning facility to enhance student learning, retention and performance. In particular, the new learning space will help the LRC implement more distance learning classes and provide a space to promote innovative teaching and learning for the languages and the rest of the campus.
