SOIS Drop-In Student Lounge & Tutoring Center

The SOIS drop-in student lounge and Tutoring Center is located in NWQ-D 3810. This lounge, which SOIS students are free to use for their coursework, is equipped with high-end workstations which include:

  • Intel Core i7 CPU
  • 16GB RAM
  • 256GB Solid State Hard Drive (SSD)
  • 24″ Monitors
  • SOIS Lab Software Suite
  • *The lounges are located in public areas and cannot be reserved for events. The lounges are open any time the NWQ building is open

NWQ-D 2810

SOIS offers a dedicated classroom computer lab. This lab is equipped with high-end workstations which include:

  • Intel Core i5 CPU
  • 16GB RAM
  • 256GB Solid State Hard Drive (SSD)
  • 24″ Touchscreen Monitors
  • SOIS Lab Software Suite + Android Studio (NWQ-D 1885 only)
  • Instructor station with projector access
  • Capacity: NWQ-D 1990 is 36, NWQ-D 1885 is 24
  • *Not a ‘drop-in’ lab and for scheduled SOIS courses and events only

This lab hosts courses in Cisco Networking and Switching, Ethical Hacking, and Advanced Networking. This lab is equipped with:

  • Intel Core i7 CPU
  • 32GB RAM
  • 1TB NVMe Solid State Hard Drive (SSD)
  • 24″ Monitors
  • 10 racks of Cisco Networking Equipment
  • SOIS Lab Software Suite + Virtual Box
  • Instructor station with projector access (HDMI)
  • Capacity: 36
  • *Not a ‘drop-in’ lab and for scheduled SOIS courses and events only

Software

SOIS offers an abundance of licensed and open source software, in both its physical and virtual computer labs. Both the physical and virtual computer lab run identical software packages. Below is a list of available software applications and packages currently installed in the SOIS Labs.
