We offer workshops on a variety of levels, from introductory to advanced, on multiple topics. We are also happy to tailor a workshop to the specific needs of your classroom or organization. Workshops include a lecture-style presentation, interactive activities, and question & answer periods.
Workshop requests should be made, no later than 3 weeks from the presentation date. This allows our Education team to provide the best workshop possible.
Below is a list of workshops offered by the IEC:
Putting Them First
This training workshop provides a comprehensive look on what it means to be a first-generation student. Learn about the challenges that first-generation students face and how our office and UWM can help to remove barriers for our first-generation community.
The UWM Undocumented Student Task Force in collaboration with the Inclusive Excellence Center provides a two-part UndocuAlly training opportunity for students, faculty, and campus employees to support and guide undocumented/DACA students at UWM and their communities. Part 1 of the training focuses on historical information, policy and important terminology. Part 2 of the training focuses on advocacy, resources, and how to become and UndocuAlly for students and their families.
Diversity & Inclusion
The Inclusive Excellence Center facilitates several diversity and inclusion workshops for students, faculty, and staff on the UWM campus. UWM community members can request facilitation in their office or classroom.
