Lawton Program

Lawton is known as the Lawton Undergraduate Minority Retention Grant Program. It is designed to provide financial assistance to statutorily designated minority undergraduate students to improve their opportunities for retention and graduation and reduce the burden of student debt. One must meet all necessary criteria listed below to be invited:

    • Completed 24 or more college credits
    • A GPA of at least 2.25
    • Due to COVID-19, be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits per semester (can be part or full-time)                            
    • Identify as Black, Native American, Hispanic, or Southeast Asian of Vietnamese, Cambodian, Hmong, or Laotian descent
    • Wisconsin resident for tuition purposes
    • Completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) early
    • Lawton is awarded on a first come first serve basis.  If offered, students are strongly encourage to accept the award.
    • Eligible students can receive up to eight (8) semesters of Lawton
