We will have good, solid, safe ice for our hike through the Bog to Long and Donut Lakes on February 2. Some warm days, but nights below freezing, are forecasted for this week but the ice is thick! Unless we get substantial snow, the trail will be very slick ice on Sunday. Some type of ice cleats will be essential for safety. We will evaluate the chance of precipitation later in the week but will likely hike regardless of some snow or light rain. Dress for the weather and stay on the main trail. Safety glasses or sunglasses are always recommended for walking in the Bog. We are in for a beautiful and memorable hike in our amazing wetland as long as we are dressed for the conditions!
Check back later this week for another trial condition update.
