Virtual Winter Hike into the Cedarburg Bog

January 31 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Our annual winter hike into the interior of the Cedarburg Bog will be virtual this year!

Winter is a great time to explore the Cedarburg Bog! Jim Reinartz, the retired Director of the Field Station, has traditionally led a hike on the frozen surface of the Cedarburg Bog in January, which has been followed by a chili dinner sponsored by the Friends of the Cedarburg Bog.

We can’t hike in person this year or share a dinner together, but we can get together virtually to celebrate the Cedarburg Bog in winter.  Jim Reinartz will take us down the frozen waterways of the Bog and into the heart of this amazing wetland as he discusses the physiography, hydrology, plant communities, and hiking opportunities during the winter months.

This event will be held synchronously via Zoom, on Jan 31 at 6:30 pm.  You can make your own pot of chili and enjoy it in the comfort of your home as we make our virtual visit to the Bog.
