Dr. Yu’s work is a futuristic mix of medicine and engineering. Using 3-D geometric modeling and image processing he has been able to look at the microscopic mechanism of heart contraction which could ultimately lead to advances in heart disease. He is also developing new algorithms and software tools for other researchers and engineers to automate image processing and geometric modeling.
