Dr. Mohammad Qandil is an Assistant Director for the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). The U.S. Department of Energy funds the IAC and promotes energy efficiency and sustainable manufacturing through energy assessments for manufacturing facilities. Dr. Qandil received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UWM with a dissertation on increasing water turbines' efficiency and performance by minimizing air pockets' formation in areas of low pressure where the blades churn through the water. He is also a Senior Energy Engineer at Tetra Tech. Before joining Tetra Tech, Dr. Qandil worked as an Application Engineer at Therma-Stor in Madison, WI, for two years, as a Technical Support Engineer at PETRA Engineering for HVAC Industries in Jordan for three years, and as a Sales Engineer at PETRA Engineering for HVAC Industries in Oman for two years.
