Save the Dates!

Learn more this summer about becoming an inclusive early childhood educator! This online speaker series will help prepare you to become an educator who honors the richness related to culture, race, language, gender, socioeconomic status, ability, conditions of learning, and life circumstances of young children. Learn to build environments that celebrate the diversity of young children and make learning accessible for all.

The first two sessions with Dr. Kathleen King Thorius and Dr. María Cioè-Peña have been completed and our last session with Dr. Seena Skelton is scheduled for July 27.

  • Dr. Kathleen King Thorius (June 29, 9:00 – 11:00 am) – Reorienting to Inclusive Education: Considerations for Intersectional Teacher Preparation Programs to Sustain all Learners
  • Dr. María Cioè-Peña (July 20, 9:00 – 11:00 am) – “Wanting to Leave, Needing to Stay”: Engaging and Investing in Families’ Humanity in Early Childhood, Special Education, and Language Learning
  • Dr. Seena Skelton (July 27, 9:00 – 11:00 am) – Foregrounding Student Identity and Resisting Normative Notions of Risk and Development at the Intersections of Disability, Race, and Language
