Part II – Design to Partner with Families: Cultivating Effective Early Learning Collaboration

This workshop delves into the transformative realm of collaboration. In this session we will explore the intricacies of building purposeful partnerships between parents/family members and early learning personnel, turning every educational setting into a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. This workshop aims to empower educators with the tools to honor and invite every family into the educational process by identifying and overcoming barriers to connection. By embracing the frameworks of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and culturally responsive strategies, educators will learn how to foster open communication channels and create a welcoming atmosphere in early learning settings.

Andratesha Fritzgerald is the author of Antiracism and Universal Design for Learning: Building Expressways to Success (CAST, 2020), winner of a Benjamin Franklin Award from the Independent Book Publishers Association. She has served extensively in education as a teacher, curriculum specialist, administrator, and director. As an international speaker, presenter, and facilitator, Fritzgerald exhibits an audacious perseverance that calls organizations to evolve into inclusive safe zones for all learners.
