Nancy Rice teaches in the Early Adolescence through Adolescence program (middle/high school), specializing in cultural representations of disability, qualitative research, inclusive education, and teacher education. She is involved in research in related areas, such as how people with disabilities and educational policy are represented in teacher education textbooks and what this means in terms of attitudes toward students with disabilities among pre- and in-service teachers.

Rice earned a MEd in special education/education of the mildly handicapped from Arizona State University and a PhD in cultural foundations of education from Syracuse University.
