We are delighted to announce that three excellent faculty from the Department of Biomedical Science have joined the Milwaukee Institute for Drug Discovery.
Professor Janis Eells (left) is a pharmacologist with an appointment as Adjunct Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin and affiliated with the McPherson Eye Research Institute. Her research is focused on the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in retinal degeneration and disease and photobiomodulation of retinal degeneration. She adds a wealth of experience in the area of retinal medicine to the MIDD. Elizabeth Liedhegner (middle) is an Assistant Professor focusing on neuroscience, especially investigating the transfer of endocannabinoid ligands by sterol carrier protein-2. Assistant Professor Troy Skwor (right) is an Assistant Professor studying antibiotic resistance and is developing phototherapies for the production of single oxygen species to support wound healing.
