Jamie Cimpl-Wiemer

Jamie joined the Office of Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights in December 2015, and was appointed as Director in July 2018. As Director of EOCR, Jamie is responsible for the supporting UWM's compliance with equal employment opportunity requirements, and for overseeing the investigation and resolution of complaints of discrimination and discriminatory harassment made by UWM faculty, staff, and students. As UWM's Title IX Coordinator, Jamie coordinates UWM's institutional response to reports of sexual violence, sexual misconduct, and relationship violence involving UWM faculty, staff, and students.

Before joining UWM, Jamie was employed as an assistant public defender in the Milwaukee Trial office of the State Public Defender; prior to that, Jamie practiced general litigation as an associate attorney in a two-person Milwaukee law firm. He graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2003, and received his law degree magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2006.
