On an annual basis, the UWS Board of Regents acknowledges the work of an individual as well as a department/program/unit/team with its prestigious diversity awards. These awards recognize the highest level of work in the diversity arena in the UW System.
With the work that we have implemented and engaged in over the years in the diversity arena, now is the time to advance the names of those engaged in that work for this type of recognition.
The guidelines and criteria for submission of your nominee can be found here. However, we ask that you follow the internal nominating process below and adhere to our internal deadline – not the UW System deadline. We will need time to contact the selected nominees and have them assist us with their portfolio for submission to the UW System before Oct. 11, 2020. Our internal process is as follows:
- Please identify the individual and/or department/program/unit/team that you would like to nominate after reading the guidelines and criteria.
- Please forward their name(s) and a one-page description as to why they should be considered, based on the criteria, to Dr. Chia Vang at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also direct any questions regarding the process to her at that email.
- We ask that you submit the internal name and materials to Dr. Chia Vang no later than 5 p.m. on Sept. 14, 2020.
- We will then provide all names and materials to our internal selection team, advance the selected name(s) to the chancellor for approval, and then prepare the packet and send to the System by their selected date.
